ARAC Roof It Forward Case Studies: Low Sloped Roof Alternatives
The Challenge
On this homes roofing system there is one area that has been giving the homeowner issues for years. It is a 1/7/12 pitched area and has always been leaking. When Roof It Forward was called out to replace the entire roof we discovered this low slope area and knew exactly what was needed to ensure a water tight roofing system.
When Roof It Forward uncovered the area we found a couple layers of shingles and some random metal installed to try and shed the water.
The Solution
Roof It Forward solved this issue by installing a 2 ply modified bitumen roofing system in the low sloped roofing location. The first layer is a sticky membrane that adheres to the actual roofing plywood. The top layer has the same type stick backing and sticks to the first layer. The second layer has a granular surface typical of a roofing shingle. This will ensure there are no areas for water to penetrate this product and will remain free of rain and ice issues for years to come.
