Roof It Forward Case Study: Blown-In Insulation
The Challenge
During the inspection of the property, Wesley McNeally, discovered the attic only had 5" to 5.5" of insulation. He explained to the customer that based off their region, their attic should have at least R38 installed. The customer explained that they had been planning on getting some one to add additional insulation. But due to the small height in the attic and the mess the crews could leave, they have held off.
The Solution
Wesley explain that while they were replacing their roof they could simply remove a piece of decking and access the attic from the roof. This would eliminate the messy hoses being taken though their house. And if there was any areas they could not access while inside the attic they could remove another piece of decking and access that area.
The customer was thrilled and signed the agreement to have the blown-in fiberglass insulation installed the day of the build. After the work was completed the customer said that even though the roof looked amazing - they were so happy to have additional insulation in their attic with no mess caused inside their house.
